In 1968 when I was 12 years old, Joe Blavitt called me to the sound both and introduced me to a man that had invented a new kind of roller skate. They had all four wheels in-line and stoppers on the back of both skates. Joe informed me that the man was looking for someone to tryout the new skates and I felt honored that Joe chose me. To this day I believe that I was one of the first in the country to try the new form of skates and once in a while I share my experience with disbelieving others.
