In reply to your question about "where are the old skaters from the 50's and early 60's", well, here is one of 'em! I am now 62 and I played hockey for the Bulldogs 1962-64. Before that I skated for Dearborn Rollerdrome, Roller Skate Arena (8 Mile), and Arcadia for many years (1950-60) in the art events. I would love to be in touch with some of the other oldies, but the only ones I know of are Tom Obie, Sandy Perry (now Kennedy), skater/pro Nancy DeHosse (married skater/pro Tom Gregory, now deceased), Dick Larpenter, Nita Stewert (Larpenter), Gerry Gohs, Cheryl Leineke (Gohs), and Cecelia Darimont, most of whom did not skate for Motor City. But you mentioned Marsha and Tom Obie; I once skated fours with Tom and he is still a close friend. He and Marsha live in Highland, MI, and I could give you the info if you'd contact me directly at PaulLibke@comcast.net. Your name sounds familiar, but I can't really say I knew you. I had quit skating the art events before joining the MC Bulldogs. Bill Pate played on the team as well, and I would love to track him down. I took lessons from him for several years at 8 Mile until he got drafted into the Army. Then I took from Gail Locke at both 8 Mile & Arcadia, and would like to find her even more. She was like a big sister to me! Bill & Gail were once married but I think they divorced. Oh, I just remembered Norbert (Knobby) Urbaniak played on the hockey team also. I worked for Ford Motor in Dearborn and once ran into Knobby at a restaurant but haven't heard from him in 20-25 years now. I hope this will help you some. I just stumbled onto the web site looking for Gail Locke with Google. Thanks for your info, and I hope to hear from you and others who may know of some of the skaters I mentioned, especially Gail Locke & Bill Pate. If someone keeps a mailing list for future reunions and other info I would love to be included: Paul Libke, 44722 Dionne Street, Canton, MI 48188, 734-394-2605(Home) 734-748-6464(Cell) PaulLibke@comcast.net.
