What memories this brings back.!!! We could never wait until Tuesday night, ratting our hair, putting on black eyeliner, rolling up our skirts, and going to our favorite place, The Motor City Roller Rink.
From 1964 to 1966 this is what we did every Tuesday night. Their was Lee Allan (on the horn) and Joel Sebastion, disc jockeys from WXYZ am radio. They hosted the dances and they were great!!! We listened to them faithfully every night on the radio, except Tuesday nights of course when we danced the night away with them. We seen The Four Seasons, The Supremes, The Temptations, The Four Topps, The Isley Brothers, The Reflections and many more coming in to sing two songs and leave. I remember them on the platform as if it was yesterday, and we could stand two feet from them to watch them sing.
My fondest memories are of the Motor City Dances and this my friends were "The Good Ole Days."
