Bob skated at Motor City a few years before I started skating. He
was skating before the Blavatt's came from Moses Lake. When I did start to skate, he would only smile at me and maybe if I was
lucky he would say "HI" (I was only 11 or 12 years old which means I
started in '63 or '64). I skated with my family. There was Harold (aka
Peanut), Bonnie, Gail, and also three younger kids who didn't skate so
much (if they skated at all). Bonnie, Gail, and I were always dressed
alike (Mom made us matching outfits all the time). We were so cute (ha
ha). Bob and I began dating in May of 1969 after a meeting at Russ & Elaine
Velardo's house. They won't say weather they had something to do with our
chance meeting there, but I'm pretty sure they did. We got engaged in
September and Married in June of 1970. Next month we will be married 35
wonderful years! We have two children. Crystal who is 33 and married to Kevin (her
childhood sweetheart), & Ryan who is going to be 28 next month and still
looking for "Miss Right". Crystal & Kevin have two children of their own (yes, we are Grandma &
Grandpy). Rachel is 7 years old and tomorrow Aaron (aka "Bubba") will be 5
years old. They're a lot of fun!! When we first married we lived in Roseville for 8 years, then in Warren
for the next 23 years and we now live in Harrison Twp. on a canal (right
by Selfridge ANG). The canal home has been a dream of ours for many years,
since we have been boaters since 1983. We really love the canal life. Bob
has a rough time leaving for work in the morning because it is like being
on vacation everyday. In 1993 Bob started his own business, Rytal Engineering (named after a
combination of our kids names). He designs and builds prototype racks and
containers for the car companies. The Business is in Sterling Hgts. and it
is located (get this) on Wall Street. My job is to keep the books for the
company but I don't work outside the home. We have many memories from Motor City and were saddened that it had to
be torn down. Most of our youth was spent rolling around that floor and
doing group events with the many people we met there. We even dated a few
of them. We would like to hear from more people from the 60's and learn what
they are doing now. Please take time to sit down and type a few words. It
really doesn't take that long. Bob & Shirley Breuhan
