Hello. Amazing. I thought our family history died with my grandma this past year. I am the daughter of Chataldo Skolyak. His mother was Josephine Guarnieri. Her father was Cataldo Guarnieri. My grandma had 11 brothers and sister. Uncle Joe, Aunt Mary (who we called grandma) and Aunt Mona we grew up with in Ohio. I am wondering if there are other Guarnieri's who are in this line that could tell me more about my Nana. Her name was Francesca Valenza, she married Cataldo Guarnieri. She died when I was little but I remember her foundly and would like to learn more about her. The stories are that she ran moonshine for All Capone :) Would love to hear from any of you long lost family members :) In Spirit Michelle

I have a 1729 Guarnerius violin that I found in my grandparents home. Is Guarnerius and Guarnieri one in the same? If so, I would like to get any information I can. The violin is in great shape and is made of some of the prettiest wood I have ever seen. My address is 344 Sunny Trail NW Brookhaven, Ms. 39601. Thank You!!

Happy to see so much Guarnieri in the world. I live in Apulia south Italy and my family is in Cisternino, small town near Brindisi, from where lots of Guarnieri went to U.S. and Argentina at the beginning of this century. If someone wants to send me e-mail he'll be welcome.

Just found your web site by accident - typed in Oberleiter, which brought up my father, his mother and so on. I kept following it until I got lost. Apparently through the Langtons, Fix's from france, and so forth. Emma Louise Fix was my great grandmother, whom was born to Joseph Fix and Celestine Jondro. Found this web site very interesting!!! I have started printing it for my 7 wk old daughter Mackenzie Ashton Lawson. I am the first to have a child, which would have been Clara (Langton) Oberleiters great grandchild, but she past away a few years ago. If anyone needs any info or has any info on Theodore Oberleiters family, please let me know. Thank you! P.S. I am from Monroe MI originally.

I am the grandson of Bianca Guarnieri-Corsiglia. Grandma Bianca came from the village of Neirone near Genoa. Grandpa Corsiglia came from a village next to Neirone called Ogino. They arrived in Detroit, Michigan in 1914. Grandma's 2 brothers Victor and Dominic had preceeded them to the States. It certainly is amazing that we can have this environment (WEB PAge) to share a family history.

Hi there fellow Guarnieri's, I saw some of my "known" relatives on here. I am the youngest daughter of the famous Jazz Musician Johnny Guarnieri. His father was Ferdinand, who was right off the boat. My father married Mama, Jeanne Guarnieri. I had two brothers who have both passed away, Johnny Jr., an accomplished Opera singer, and teacher, who had three daughters, Joanne, Gina, & Crystal, and Peter who died very young of cystic fibrosis. I also have four sisters. Noelle Guarnieri Devita, from Mass. who has two children Donna and Ernie, Christine Guarnieri Benham, from CT. who has five children, Charley, Kellyanna, Nedd, Little Chrissy, & Pollyanna, Patricia, from CA who has four children (she's kind of private),Gretchen Guarnieri Batis, from CA who has two children, Mickey and Danny, and then of course there's myself, I'm from CA too, and have four children Scott, Jenny, Rob, and Jonathan. My husbands name is Louie, and he's a doll! Mama lives here in CA as well, very close to me in fact. I saw some notes posted, one from one of my Nieces Crystal, Johnny Jr.'s youngest daughter, in case you read this page sometime soon, Hi sweetie, and one from my cousin Sammy, son of my fathers brother Armond, Hey write back to me, I'm, still waiting! Papa also had a brother,Leo who died many years ago, who played Bass. His sister Anna, my aunt, lives in Las Vegas with my cousin Cathy. And they are also accomplished musicians and entertainers. I think its wonderful that there is so many of us out there. I can remember growing up wishing for a simple name like Smith, and being called Canary girl, but not anymore! I loved reading the messages from the Guarnieri's all over the world. Hello to everyone. If any more of my "known" relatives are out there, Joanne, Gina ... write to me via the email! I plan to make regular stops here, and hopefully with my new scanner I can post pictures of the whole family. Have a great day one and all. See you soon.

My father's name was Joseph Guarnieri (he was killed in WWII when I was 8 months old). His father's name was Salvatore Guarnieri and mother's name Charlotte Perrone (my namesake). My grandparents were both born in Sicily and settled in Wilkes Barre, PA. My dad was one of 7 children. I know nothing about his family because my grandparents and all the sibblings are deceased. If there is anyone that can help, I'd be very interested. My computer at home is broke so I've entered my E-mail address at work for responses. It would certainly be nice to know something of my heritage.

i love this webpage. it surely satisfied my inquiring mind. i've been particularly intrigued by old violins and i can never read enough about them. it's sad though that some people don't care one bit about such precious instruments. like the restaurant i went to, displayed 3 miniature violins that looked gorgeous and playable. i couldn't help thinking one might be worth a fortune if proven authentic! i play piano and violin, and it's a passion i would like to share with everyone... if possible! thank you...

Hi to all the Guarnieri's. Haven't written in a long time, but wanted to update my email address. I've found my father's family history going back to 1803 thanks to Jeffrey Marcus. What a treasure this all is. Wish I could find out something about my mother's family, the Olivieri's. I'm not even sure where they came from. Her father was Ralph Olivieri and her mother was Teresa DellaPenta. We all lived in Endicott, N.Y. My mother and brother John are still there. My other brother Anthony lives in Cleveland along with his family. I live with my husband Harry in St. Simons Island, Ga. My son, Paul Johnson is a boat captain in New Orleans. My son, John Johnson is a police officer in Naples, Fl. Thanks to Tony and all of you who help make this world a little smaller for us. Carol Guarnieri Johnson

I'm sorry my surname is not "Guarnieri" but I want congratulate all Guarnieri's family for this nice pages and over all for the page concerning Neirone Town in Italy. Apparently the ancestral origin of my family is from this small village quitted two centuries ago (now I live in Belgium) and I'm very happy to discover a special website expressely dedicate to Neirone. The legend (?) say Pablo Picasso's grand father and Frank Sinatra's mother was from the same valley ! Happy Easter, Franco

Un saluto a Tony e a tutti le Guarnieri e Guarneri in Italia e in tutto il mondo. How the Guarnieri last name change to "Guarneri" according to Mario Guarnieri of Bergamo: In latino non si può pronunciare "Guarnierius". Per cui "i" famosi liutai (costruttori di violino) Guarneri di Cremona, tolsero la "i", trasformandolo in "Guarnerius" e cosi si crearono due rami familiari. The Guarneri Family, violin makers, change the name to latin "Guarnerius." In latin it cannot be said "Guarnierius" for this reason the famous violin makers of Cremona took away the "i" and in this way we got two family branches. This mean to me that every "Guarneri" is coming from the violin makers of cremona. Guarneri, Carlo. Andover, KS.
