Andrea Guarneri violin?

A friend has an 'old' violin, that he brought to a shop to see it's value.
The shop owner said "oh, about 100$", and my friend, not being a fool said he'd think about it. He brought
it to me, and I recognized the name and have been doing
some research on it. It reads:

Andreas Guarnerius fecit Cremone
sub titulo Sanctae Teresiae 1716.

The s in sub and Teresiae
are of the long, gothic style. Now, Andrea Guarneri was well dead by 1716,
so did one of his sons make it or is it a copy with an ill-
thought out label? Does anyone know?

Thanks,

Martin Damus
