I have the same thing, labeled 17 with a hand written "39" next to the 17. It was owned by my Grandfather, and not played for over 80 years. He told my Father is was very old. What do you think?

: I have a violin with the label Joseph Guarnerius fecit cremonae (with e on top of a) IHS with a cross anno 1730 the 30 kooks lighter in color and different looking. I am curios to find out if it is original or a copy. And its value either way.
