We have had a violin given down through our family and out of curiosity, we are interested to its origin and how much it could be worth.

The inscription inside is "Joseph Guarnerius fecit cremonae anno 17" with the "G" in Guarnerius looks like an "O", and the "ae" in cremonae is joint together. Unlike everyone elses, there is no hand written numbers after the 17 and no other markings or stickers present. There is also a cross inside with IHS. The violin is lightly soiled.

We would appreciate any information anyone can give us. Thanks in advance.
