My father was born Salvatore Gelfo; he arrrived in America thr Ellis Island in 1911. His mother's name was Maria Gelfo. My father was born in Strongoli. His mother's maiden name was Rossi. She died in the flue epidemic of 1919. My grandfather ws a miner in Sicily and in West Virgina, before moving to Detroit during WWI. There were five children. I do not know the Italian first name of my grandfather. His name here is America was John. I do not know if he had brothers (e.g. a Domenico).
